This new program provides a source
of recognition for
the horse and rider who enjoy the benefits gained from
pleasure trail riding/driving on a regular basis.
Awards will be presented to the rider. Owners and riders
must be members in good standing of the WWHA
during the time the hours are accumulated. A member
may enter any number of TWHBEA registered horses.
Unregistered horses are not eligible. Cost is $10 per horse
and rider combination per year. Annual renewal fees are
$10 with paid WWHA membership. This program is based
on the honor system. Any person knowingly falsifying
information will be disqualified, no refund of fees will be
issued and future enrollment requests will be denied.
This program will run from Nov.
1 through Oct. 31,
at which time books must be submitted for hours to
be totaled for award consideration.
Riding hours are recorded in the
horse's Log Book;
which must be signed. Log books will be supplied by
the WWHA upon receipt of the application. (Please
submit a separate application for each horse.) The Log
Book is the horse's official record used to list each
registered horse ridden for logged hours and to record
complete riding hours. A separate Log Book will be
issued for each horse with paid fees.
Your Saddle Log must be signed
by a trail boss. This
is any person who can verify that you have spent the
time riding. A trail ride organizer, the person you are
riding with, or someone that knows you have been
riding are all acceptable trail bosses.
Hours may be logged for any
trail ride. Hours spent
driving a horse may also be logged. To log riding/
driving time, a minimum of one hour must be ridden;
every full hour thereafter is qualified to be logged.
Logged time consists of hours spent in actual forward
motion.
Hours will be accumulated
throughout the horse's
life with recognition noted at the following levels of
accomplishment:
- 50 Hours
- 100 Hours
- 250 Hours
- 500 Hours
- 1000 Hours
At each award plateau Log Books
must be returned to
WWHA to receive awards. Log book will be recorded
and returned. Horses’ accomplishments will also be
acknowledged at the annual award night in January as
each level is reached.
